Work with me

Atomized

What to do when you’re a company of one.

I’m not B2B. I’m A2A — atom to atom.One company of one, helping another.

Business has atomized

The tools that used to need a marketer, an ops person, an analyst, and an IT department now sit one login away. Every professional is becoming a one-person company, assembling a custom stack of software and AI to do work that used to take a department. That’s the promise. It’s also the trap.

You have to be a generalist with specialist judgment — in a dozen fields at once

To run a company of one well, you need specialist-level instincts across tools, automation, data, and AI, plus the judgment to know which shiny thing is a distraction. Nobody is good at all of it. You’re almost certainly missing something, and the thing you’re missing is usually the thing costing you the most — precisely because you can’t see it from the inside.

What most people try — and why it stalls

  • Ask an AI chatbot. It doesn’t know your business, forgets the conversation the moment it ends, and will confidently recommend the wrong tool.
  • The LinkedIn formula“comment SLIDES for my 10-step system.” Generic, built to sell the poster’s funnel, not built for you.
  • A podcast or YouTube rabbit hole. Hours of input, no decision, and three new tools you’ll never finish setting up.
  • Just keep doing what’s always worked — until it quietly stops working and you don’t notice for six months.

Each of these hands you information. None of them hands you a decision.

The fix: talk to an experienced generalist

Talk to someone who has actually worked the range — from the C-suite to the command line, across both business and technology — and who is good at the part that matters most: asking the right questions and listening to the answers. In one focused session I map your actual situation, run the real decisions through a structured analysis, and hand you a written recommendation backed by a researched software library. A prescription, in writing. A full workup, not a hunch.

Here’s the range I bring:

  • Business & finance — an MBA in finance and accounting (Vanderbilt), and two decades translating banking, capital markets, and fintech for executive audiences.
  • Technology, hands-on — I build and ship working software with AI — databases, task systems, research tools — and demo it live, on stage.
  • Decision analysis — the big calls run through several decision-theory frameworks at once, not one gut read.
  • Researched, not guessed — recommendations drawn from the Survey of Software, a library of 230+ surveys with citations.
  • Communication — 1,300+ published pages for C-level readers; NSA Northwest board member.

What a session actually covers

We walk the whole map of a one-person business and find the gaps:

  • Getting paid — payments, invoicing, bookkeeping
  • Winning & keeping clients — booking, CRM, contracts
  • Building an audience — email, social, analytics
  • Making content — writing, slides, video, repurposing
  • Running the operation — tasks, scheduling, AI assistants
  • Selling knowledge — courses & community, if it fits
  • Your front door — the website
  • The AI layer — which models, and where they actually help

Every recommendation is drawn from the Survey of Software — a researched library of 230+ software surveys, with citations — not whatever’s trending this week.

What you walk away with

  • Faster time to clarity — from “I think I need something” to “here’s exactly what to do,” in 90 minutes.
  • Actionable next steps — a prioritized plan you can execute, not a pile of notes.
  • Decisions that hold up — every recommendation pressure-tested from multiple angles before it reaches you.
  • Tools chosen on evidence — backed by a researched library, not a hunch.
  • You keep the keys — you implement it; nothing depends on me staying in the loop.
  • An outside eye — someone to find the expensive thing you can’t see from inside your own business.
